Welcome to Stamp Quest — an app designed to help travelers discover and collect commemorative stamps across Japan and other supported countries. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application (“App”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the App.

a. Analytics and Crash Reports
We use anonymized analytics and crash reporting tools to understand how users interact with the App and to diagnose technical issues. No personally identifiable information is collected through these reports.

b. Location Data
The App uses your device’s location to help you find nearby commemorative stamps. Location access is only used while the App is running and is not stored or shared with third parties.

c. Subscription and Billing Data (Stamp Quest+)
If you subscribe to Stamp Quest+, payment and billing data (including trial status) is handled entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment or billing information ourselves.

2. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to support key functionalities of the App. Your interactions with these services are subject to their respective privacy policies.

a. Mapbox
We use Mapbox to display interactive maps and stamp locations within the App. Mapbox may collect location and device data as part of its service. Please refer to the Mapbox Privacy Policy for more information on how your data is handled.

b. Google Maps (Directions Only)
When you request directions to a stamp location, the App may open Google Maps or your default navigation app. Any data shared during this navigation session is governed by that service’s privacy policy, such as Google’s Privacy Policy.

c. Firebase / Google Cloud Platform
We use Firebase and Google Cloud Platform to support analytics, crash reporting, and other backend infrastructure. These services follow high standards of data security and are operated by Google.

3. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but strive to maintain best practices.

4. Data Retention

We retain anonymized data only as long as necessary to fulfill its purpose (e.g., analytics and crash reporting). No personally identifiable information is retained unless required by law or platform policy.

5. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

In-app Deletion

If you created an account in the App, you may delete your account directly via the Delete Account option under Profile > Settings > Delete Account.

Manual Request

If you prefer to request data deletion manually:

• Subject line: “Request for Data Deletion - Stamp Quest”

• Include:

  • The email address associated with your account

  • A confirmation statement requesting data deletion

We will process your request within 30 business days and confirm once completed.

6. Free Trial and Subscription Privacy

If you start a 4-day free trial of Stamp Quest+, your subscription status and trial period will be handled through your App Store or Google Play account. We do not collect personal billing details.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your device settings. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.

7. Children’s Privacy

Stamp Quest does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we may have collected such data, please contact us immediately, and we will remove it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
